- Tanga Cement PLC handed over one furnished classroom and 2
toilets to Kichalikani Primary School as part of the company Corporate Social Investment which
aims at supporting Tanzania community in different areas of development. The cost of the
donation is Tzs 44.9 million.
Speaking during the handing over ceremony, Tanga Cement PLC Logistic and Distribution
Manager Mr Samuel Shoo said; “Tanga Cement PLC understands the value of education to
children and we believe by supporting these children we are supporting the future generation.
The donated furnished classroom and toilets will not only help this generation but also the
future generations of Kichalikani Primary School. We feel proud in supporting these children
today who are the future engineers, doctors and teachers of our community and Tanga
Cement as a company. From today our students will be able to study in comfortable
environment and proper hygiene which will result to improved performance of both the
students and the school”.
Mr Shoo further added; “Apart from the various projects that we are supporting in our
community, Tanga Cement PLC gives priority to education projects since we believe in
supporting the education system in the country we enhance more development to the
community not only today but to the future. I call upon other companies to join hands with
Tanga Cement PLC in uplifting the quality of education in the country rather than leaving this
task to the government alone”.
